An outage in the aviation communications network linking airlines with Incheon International Airport disrupted check-in and ticket issuance for 13 airlines from 4:30 a.m. on October 30. ARINC connectivity was restored around 3:20 p.m., but China Southern, China Eastern and Air China continued manual processing until their TravelSky systems returned around 5 p.m., leaving about 1,200 passengers waiting and delaying at least 35 flights by two to three hours.
The airport added guidance, security and screening staff while the affected carriers issued tickets by hand. Check-in operations across the airport were reported to be normal after the later airline-system recovery.
