South Korea will expand home-based elderly care in 2027 so people with severe needs can receive more frequent support without moving into facilities. Monthly care limits for the first and second long-term-care grades will rise by 15.1%, reaching 2,891,400 won and 2,682,300 won respectively. The government will also pilot scheduled rounds and on-demand visits for meals and medication, while expanding short-term facility care for sudden family absences.

Integrated home-care providers will increase from 418 to 700 and home medical-care centers from 463 to 500, as the average monthly insurance premium rises by 1,100 won.
