Six pieces of material suspected to be human remains were found during a renewed search of Jeju Air crash wreckage stored at Gimpo International Airport. Four pieces came from one large storage bag and two were found in the aircraft cockpit, and all six were sent to the National Forensic Service for genetic identification.

Including these findings, the number of suspected remains recovered through renewed searches since February 2026 has reached 1,832. The bereaved families’ association said the wreckage search has ended and expects identification procedures to be completed around the middle of next month.
