South Korea launched a committee on November 2 to review compensation for people harmed by humidifier disinfectants. The 30-member panel, chaired by attorney Park Jong-un and including legal, medical, judicial and government members, reviewed its operating rules and a draft compensation framework at its first meeting.

It will gather victimsโ€™ views and use specialist reviews before setting detailed standards, while some support measures, including school placement and illness-related absence recognition, are already in effect.
