Police found the woman dead and the man unconscious beside her, according to reports. He later regained consciousness at a hospital, although investigators initially could not communicate with him effectively.

- Arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder
The victim had previously reported stalking by the suspect and was classified by police as a high-risk victim of relationship-based crime. Police had conducted repeated safety checks, while a court had imposed temporary protective measures against the man. The killing occurred despite that record of intervention and monitoring.
Protection measures had already been imposed
The suspect was held in detention for about a month, until August 22, after police sought temporary measures in July. He then wore a location-tracking electronic device for two months. Reports said the order requiring the device ended approximately two weeks before the victim was killed, but the available evidence does not explain why monitoring was not extended or what restrictions remained in force afterward.
Investigators obtained surveillance footage showing the victim entering the manโs residence alone during the previous day. Accounts differ on the injuries found on her body: one report described stab wounds, while another cited signs of blunt-force trauma and bleeding. Police are investigating the precise cause of death and the circumstances leading to the encounter rather than treating those descriptions as reconciled findings.
The suspect was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. Police plan to question him as his condition permits, establish the sequence of events and consider seeking a detention warrant. The investigation will also need to clarify how contact occurred after the earlier stalking case, what risk assessments were made when electronic monitoring ended and whether any active protection was available to the victim at that point.
