The first additional Gimpo Goldline train arrived at the Gimpo Hangang depot on November 6 after factory inspections from November 2 to 4 and dispatch from the manufacturer on November 5. Before entering passenger service, it will undergo 1,000 kilometers of preliminary testing at the depot and on the main line, along with checks of its signal, communications and safety integration.

The full expansion will add five trainsets, or 10 cars, raising daily trainsets from 29 to 34 and services from 518 to 524. The first trainset is targeted for passenger service in late December, while the remaining four are due to be introduced by next March, reducing peak intervals from 2 minutes 30 seconds to 2 minutes 10 seconds.
