Ahead of the 2027 College Scholastic Ability Test, Busan education officials trained dedicated personnel to identify AI smart glasses and handle suspected cheating. In a test using a past mathematics question, a device recognized the problem after the frame was touched and displayed an answer on the lens in about 30 seconds. Thick temples, a camera lens, tiny indicator lights and a charging port can distinguish the glasses, while Bluetooth connectivity means a concealed smartphone would also be needed; repeated touching of the frame may be another warning sign.
Officials plan closer checks during identity verification and will refer suspected devices for examination after the test, while teachers have warned that mistaken enforcement could create complaints.
