From March 30, 2027, workers covered by industrial accident insurance who earn less than 3 million won in average monthly pay, along with survivors, will be able to receive free help from a lawyer or labor consultant when seeking compensation. The support will cover insurance benefit and survivor benefit claims for occupational diseases, as well as procedures challenging related decisions, with the state paying the representative's fee.

The government has proposed 3.9 billion won for the 2027 program, while the representative fee is expected to be capped at about 700,000 won per case and the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service plans to build a specialist roster.
