South Korea's An Se-young has reached the women's singles semifinals at the 2026 BWF World Championships in New Delhi, keeping alive her bid for a second world title. The world No. 1 defeated China's fifth-ranked Han Yue 2-0, winning 21-19 and 21-12 in a 40-minute quarterfinal.

The result is also a strong sign that An has moved past the left-foot problem that interrupted her season. She withdrew from the Japan Open and skipped subsequent international competition to spend about a month on rehabilitation before returning for the world championships. Through the quarterfinal, she had not dropped a game.

An now faces China's world No. 3 Wang Zhiyi for a place in the final. The Korean has held a pronounced advantage in the matchup, winning 12 of their most recent 13 meetings. An won Korea's first world championship women's singles title in 2023 and is now two victories away from adding a second.
