South Korea moved to 2-0 in the Asian Games men’s basketball group stage with a 102-48 rout of Indonesia on September 11. The 54-point win followed Korea’s 82-66 opening victory over Saudi Arabia and left the team close to securing a place in the quarterfinals.
Lee Hyun-jung led Korea with 24 points and 10 rebounds despite playing limited minutes, while Yoo Gi-sang added 21 points. Korea steadily widened the gap and closed the game with a 32-7 fourth quarter, turning an already comfortable lead into a decisive result.
Next comes host Japan
The second win matters because it gives Korea momentum and margin before the final group game rather than leaving qualification dependent on recovering from an early loss. It also showed a more dominant scoring balance, with the team able to create separation well beyond a single standout stretch.
Korea’s final group-stage game is against host Japan on September 13. That matchup will be the next test of where this team stands before the knockout phase and whether the strong start against Saudi Arabia and Indonesia carries into a more demanding opponent.
