Korean fencer Song Se-ra won the women's individual epee gold medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, adding an Asian Games title to a career that already includes world championship success.
Song advanced through a difficult knockout bracket before winning the final 15-8. The result gives her the individual Asian Games medal she had missed at the previous edition.
She will return to competition on September 25 as Korea tries to defend its women's team epee title. That event gives Song a chance to leave the Games with two gold medals.
The individual victory also strengthens Korea's fencing medal total and confirms Song's position among the leading athletes in the women's epee field.
