Weightlifter Son Hyun-ho won three gold medals in the men’s 75-kilogram division at the 107th National Sports Festival, securing his fourth consecutive title in the event. He lifted 154 kilograms in the snatch, 199 kilograms in the clean and jerk, and 353 kilograms overall, setting Korean records in the latter two categories. Son had moved down from the 81-kilogram division and prepared for only about two weeks after the Asian Games, where three failed snatch attempts led to disqualification.
He now plans to strengthen his grip and raise his snatch target to 160 kilograms before pursuing a 205-kilogram clean and jerk and a gold medal at the World Weightlifting Championships in China.
