Jeonbuk’s education office has issued what it describes as Korea’s first provincial guidelines defining how generative AI should be used in schools, with implementation beginning in September. The rules bar AI services from being used to produce qualitative student-record evaluations and set consent limits around other people’s faces and voices.
The policy is an early test of how Korean schools can use AI for learning without outsourcing teacher judgment or normalizing privacy violations.
