The Korea Railroad Research Institute is expanding cooperation with European railway organizations on artificial intelligence, digital twins and other future rail technologies. The institute held a series of meetings in Berlin around the InnoTrans 2026 exhibition.
One of the meetings involved Germany's DZSF railway research center, where the two sides reviewed existing joint work and discussed additional research projects.
The institute also used the trade fair to meet other European rail bodies and explore ways to connect Korean research programs with international testing and development networks.
The value of the agreements will depend on which discussions turn into funded joint projects, shared datasets or technology demonstrations. For Korea, the partnerships provide another route to test rail AI and digital-twin systems against European operating environments.
