Generative AI use reached 40.6% of South Korea's population aged 15 to 64 in June, according to Microsoft's latest global adoption report. The rate rose from 37.1% in the first quarter and moved Korea from 16th to 12th place in the global ranking.
The report says adoption has increased by roughly 15 percentage points over the past year. The figures suggest generative AI is moving from an early-adopter tool toward routine use across a much broader share of Korea's working-age population.
