Boston Dynamics has unveiled a four-finger robot hand for its Atlas humanoid, demonstrating how it can handle tools and small parts in human-oriented workspaces. In a released demonstration, Atlas fitted a drill bit, drilled a hole in a wooden board, and tightened a nut by rotating it with its fingertips.
The company also showed the hand repositioning objects within its grasp, highlighting dexterity while leaving real-world deployment timing and comparative performance unconfirmed.
